Review : Shu Uemura blanc:chroma Brightening UV Cushion Foundation
March 24, 2016
The new blanc:chroma puff is sealed in a plastic. Scores on hygienic.
Aesthetic? I love the white and sleek packaging.
The much raved about unique blanc: chroma puff is unlike other brands I have tried.
A unique puff with plush pile of baby-hairs that holds and discharges the liquid formula, keeping its original fresh, radiant texture in every touch.
The puff features also enables the foundation to stay on skin during application and because of it's soft touch ( each puff made with nylon flock created with softening process in dense pile), it helps me to reach the tighter areas like the sides of the nose alot better.
Really wonderful as it reduces the need to pick up the foundation repeatedly to cover the hard to reach areas.
New Innovative cushion mechanism
It's auto "wiper" control the pick up amount. As compared to an exposed sponge, this appears alot more hygenic.
After Appication : Verdict
I have combination skin with a yellowish tone. On my skin, I am using 774 light beige.
Coverage: medium to full coverage. As you can see I have very visible veins on my skin, it's still visible after one application. Which is fine to me. However, you can build and build to about 2-3 coats and it still looks real, but honestly you won't need to build much.
Another comparsion against my neck after a single application. My skin on my face looks visibly brighter and that is because of a bismuth oxychloride (a natural mineral) pigment blend which brightens the skin without imparting any shimmer.
Overall, I like this compact UV foundation for it's radiance effect. And in comparsion to what is available in the market, I feel this maybe a good choice for those that :
1. Like the radiance and glow effect it gives after application.
2. Need more cover than what other cushions can provide.
3. Do not like the dewy after effect after application, this might be your consideration.
4. Do not have dry skin and someone who is not sensitive to alcohol.
My skin changes to climate change and on days when I do not have enough sleep, my combination to dry skin appears more oily then usual. Therefore I feel it's great to have varieties of compact foundation to cater to the different needs.
Depending on what are your needs and skin type, it is truly awesome that there are now more choices for us to choose and suit our various needs!
