The central mountain regions of Bali paired with the near perfect weather make this an ideal destination for coffee farming. Today, the balinese people take great pride in the fact that their coffee is recognized as some of the best in the world.
The traditional way to drink Balinese coffee is to process the beans into powder after they have been dried.
I visited this cafe along the street of Seminyak named Corner House. Was introduced by a local friend who knows I always enjoy a nice cuppa of strong coffee!
Right from the facade and through to its double-storey interior, Corner House boasts a consistent industrial-chic design. Paired with warm lighting, it exudes a very comforting and welcoming feeling.
Their menu consists of mainly international western cuisine, but also includes popular local (Indonesian) fare, such as nasi goreng.
Level 2 of the bar that serves great cocktail in the evening.
Outdoor seating and nice green trees that shield you from the busy street and passerbys. I spent the whole afternoon here, catching up on my emails, simply taking in the experience sipping coffee and people watching. No haste, no rush.
I appreciate Bali for its laid back ambience and its convenience. A nice mix of western touches with the balinese culture.
Bali is also known for their beautiful white, brown and black sand beaches. Only about 20 minutes away from Seminyak, this is Batu Pelig beach.
We brought the boys here for the sunset. And kids being kids, water and sand gives them much joy and happiness. It's really heartwarming to see them play and laugh like this. My love, my children....
Family bonding while on a vacation is truly a valuable experience. Away from the many distractions and hectic lifestyles at home, only us as a family we truly learn to enjoy and share the little things. And most times, these don't cost money either.
Will be updating next on a visit to a local home for the children with diabilities in Ubud. A humbling experience I hope to share with all of you...
Always have faith in yourself, don't let anyone dull your sparkle:)
